Clarisse was born and educated in Brussels, Belgium. She graduated with an MA in Romance Philology and French linguistics, and, as teaching is her true vocation since then, she obtained a secondary school teaching degree in French as a first language and as a foreign language. She has lived in Spain and is a fluent Spanish speaker.
After her degree Clarisse taught French in a secondary school in Brussels before embarking for an adventure in Yucatan, Mexico where she worked for the Alliance Française. She then came back to Europe and joined HCH where she has taught many year groups from KS1 to 5. She has held the position of Head of Humanities for many years before becoming Head of Languages. Clarisse truly believes knowing different languages is the future and her passion for different cultures and languages transpire in her day-to-day teaching.
Her passions include travelling (with a particular love for South America) reading, hiking and running. She can also play the piano and the guitar.
