Amanda has taught piano in many of the leading schools in Surrey over the past 22 years. Her students are motivated through the ABRSM exams with a varied repertoire of music suited to their needs and interests. She consistently maintains a 100% exam pass record for all her pupils and always enjoys an excellent rapport with children, parents and staff.
Highly regarded for being very personable and skilled at inspiring pupils to develop a love of music, whilst helping them achieve their potential, Amanda’s lessons are pitched and paced at the level of the child, have a variety of tasks and leave the student smiling, often saying, ‘is that the end of the lesson already?!’
She gained her teaching qualification at Cambridge and started her professional career teaching classroom Music and German, having studied languages at Bristol and worked in language recruitment after graduation. Whilst she specialises in piano tuition, she has also taught the flute, recorder and music theory.
In her spare time, she plays the flute with the Dorking Flute Ensemble and sings with the Ripieno choir based in Thames Ditton. Amanda loves to travel and plays a lot of sport, particularly tennis and Padel, hiking and cycling when she not dancing swing/jive!
