Dr Thomas McCarthy-Ward


Position: Head of Science

Thomas studied chemistry (with some maths and astrophysics) at the University of Bristol, gaining first class honours in his master of science. He then completed teacher training in Kingston before teaching chemistry and physics in Westminster. Thomas subsequently attended Imperial College London, completing a doctorate in chemistry in 2012, studying plastic electronics. Since then he has worked in Hounslow, teaching sciences, mainly chemistry, and working especially with the most able students in sixth form.

He is passionate about all science, music, linguistics, and mathematics, and in his spare time enjoys travel, cooking, gardening, board games, and learning about the universe.
